Food Blog Sees 3x More Engagement Using Video

@jer.eats has been a passion project of mine since 2017 as an outlet for my love of food and creating gourmet original recipes at home. It serves as a constantly evolving food photography portfolio that has gotten me work with major food brands like Two Bite Brownies, Create-A-Treat, & Kimberly’s Cupcakes.

In order to keep up with the algorithm and direction of consumer preferences for video content consumption, I decided to turn the food photography blog into a video series. Combining beautiful slow-motion B-Roll of food, soft consistent lighting, and talking-head style A-Roll with an enthusiastic host, the @jer.eats video series content has been extremely popular and received the highest engagement out of any of the content on the blog.

It goes to show how important high-quality video content is for brands, especially in the age of TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
